god gave rock & roll to grandma

daljit & darshana & maddie came down one day early! that will be fun even though grandma will probably make everyone work in the restaurant. darshana wasn't going to go at first but then daljit talked her into it. maddie got bob her driver to take them in the towncar so they loaded it up with guitars & amps & microphones just like a real band. maddie brought the electric drumkit because it didn't take up as much space. her brother was home from college & taught her how to twirl the drumsticks which looks really cool & now she takes her drumsticks everywhere so she can practice. while polly was away the girls learned a whole new song, god gave rock & roll to you by kiss. polly said it wouldn't take her long to learn the lyrics or how to sing it.

she said they could play it for grandma because she'll think the song's religious.

polly's grandma loves her some diana ross & the supremes…

she's always happy when polly sings for her but she really likes to hear songs like do you know the way to san jose & I say a little prayer for you & walk on by & I'll never fall in love again. poly likes singing those songs for her, partly because grandma loves them so much & also because they're easy to sing. they have a nice melody & the lyrics aren't hard & they don't go fast & all you have to do is sing it.

polly's favourite video game is tetris. she learned to play it before she could talk, almost. she used to sit on papa's lap & watch him play it on his computer. papa took a bunch of her blocks & glued them in the tetris shapes for her but polly wasn't happy until he painted them the same colours as the ones on his computer. when she started playing tetris mama & papa were excited because they thought she was a genius or a prodigy like amadeus. but polly hates math, it's her worst subject. she's just good at tetris. polly can always rely on a game of tetris to calm her down if she's mad or sad. she likes to watch the pieces fall. she also likes playing with the piece preview on so she can always be thinking one move ahead...

helping out at the restaurant

polly likes visiting her grandma. she likes helping in her restaurant. grandma lets her peel potatoes which is fun but they get slippery & polly has to hold the peeler so hard after a while her whole hand hurts. and during lunchtime polly has to ask how many people are dining & lead them to their table & hand out menus. that used to be scary but after all the performing she's done polly's feeling pretty confident.

vacation, all i ever wanted...

polly's packing for her annual summer visit to grandma's. packing is almost as fun as the whole trip. she's staying for two weeks. daljit & maddie can drive down the last weekend in the towncar & then polly will drive back home with them.
