brooklyn roads

this time papa called cassidy to make sure they were free & brooklyn & cassidy were waiting for them.

polly was so happy to see brooklyn, he was even bigger than she remembered. cassidy said brooklyn is named after the song brooklyn roads by neil diamond & not the borough. polly's never heard of neil diamond. brooklyn wears funny boards on the sides of his face to make him look straight. cassidy says he doesn't mind & would get too distracted if he didn't have them on. polly couldn't tell if brooklyn could see her but cassidy said just keep petting his neck, he knows you're there. polly gave him some carrots & then it was time to go.
